Johnson County Gateway Project FULL OPENING UPDATE
GOOD NEWS! ALL CLOSURES FULLY OPENING by Monday, December 12! Over the weekend, GIC crews will complete permanent pavement marking work throughout the interchange area and if they are successful, by 5 a.m. on Monday, December 12, weather permitting, the following movements will FULLY OPEN to traffic.
Here’s what this means for drivers: All movements at the Johnson County Gateway Project will be FULLY OPEN to all traffic, after 2.5 years of ongoing construction. There will still be daily lane closures as crews continue to complete finishing work throughout the project.
Updated daily traffic information for the #jocogateway interchange project can be viewed at: www.jocogateway.com and for the entire Kansas City Metro Area at: www.ksdot.org/kcmetro/laneclose.asp.
The Kansas Department of Transportation urges all motorists to be alert, take it slow, obey the warning signs, and “Give ‘Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through the project work zone.
Overall #jocogateway Phase Two Project work is scheduled to be completed in December 2016. (KDOT Project #435-46 KA-1002-06)
