WEEKDAY OVERNIGHT FULL ROAD & RAMP CLOSURES: Southbound I-35 from 87th Street to I-435 FULLY CLOSED to traffic for the setting of bridge girders on the eastbound and westbound I-435 mainline bridges beginning at 10 p.m., Thursday-Friday, July 21-22 and reopening at 5 a.m. Friday-Saturday, July 22-23, weather permitting. Note: Southbound I-35 ONE LEFT LANE from 75th Street to I-435 will be CLOSED from 8 p.m. until the 10 p.m. full overnight closure begins. Due to a delayed delivery of the bridge girders, this overnight closure has now been rescheduled for a later date.
In addition, these ramps will be closed overnight:
Advance message boards will alert drivers to the overnight full road and ramp closures. Traffic will detour via southbound U.S. 69 to westbound I-435 to access southbound I-35. See marked detour map below.

The Kansas Department of Transportation urges all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and “Give ‘Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through the project work zone.
