Eastbound I-435 MAJOR TRAFFIC SHIFT from Santa Fe Trail Drive to U.S. 69

NEW SPLIT LANE TRAFFIC SHIFT: Eastbound I-435 traffic will be shifted to THREE THROUGH LANES, including one new split lane of traffic, from Santa Fe Trail Drive to U.S. 69 for roadway widening work beginning at 10 p.m. on Monday, April 11 through Late Fall 2016, weather permitting.

> > > Here’s what this means for drivers:

Two left (through) lanes of eastbound I-435 will cross over the existing median to the north and run adjacent to the westbound I-435 lanes. Concrete barrier located on the outside of the two lanes will separate the eastbound I-435 traffic from the westbound I-435 traffic (as shown in the graphic below). Traffic in these two through lanes will have NO access to exit to Quivira Road, U.S. 69 or Antioch Road.

One right (through) lane of eastbound I-435 will remain south of the existing median barrier. Concrete barrier will be located on either side of this single lane (as shown in the graphic below). Traffic in this right through lane will have access to exit to Quivira Road, U.S. 69 or Antioch Road.

See the graphics above and below for a visual understanding of these traffic movements.
