Northbound I-35 at I-435 Interchange Overnight Full Road & Ramp Closure

WEEKDAY OVERNIGHT FULL ROAD & RAMP CLOSURE: Northbound I-35 at I-435 FULLY CLOSED and the northbound I-35 to westbound I-435 ramp CLOSED overnight for the setting of bridge girders on the eastbound and westbound I-435 mainline bridges beginning at 10 p.m. on Monday, July 25 and reopening at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, July 25, weather permitting. Due to a delayed delivery of the bridge girders, this overnight closure has now been rescheduled for a later date.

Advance message boards will alert drivers to the overnight full road closure. Northbound I-35 traffic will detour via eastbound I-435 to northbound U.S. 69 to access northbound I-35. Northbound I-35 to westbound I-435 ramp traffic will detour via eastbound I-435 to Quivira Road exit to access westbound I-435. See NEW marked detour map below.

WEEKDAY OVERNIGHT FULL ROAD CLOSURE: Northbound I-35 TWO LEFT LANES at 119th Street CLOSED beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, June 24 with northbound I-35 at I-435 FULLY CLOSED for bridge barrier removal work beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday, June 24 and reopening at 6 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, weather permitting.

Northbound I-35 to Westbound I-435 Loop Ramp Reopening

loop ramp Here’s a look at the new concrete pavement on the northbound I-35 to westbound I-435 loop ramp scheduled to reopen this weekend.

LOOP RAMP REOPENING TO TRAFFIC! Northbound I-35 to westbound I-435 loop ramp will REOPEN to all traffic at 6 a.m. this Saturday, June 25, weather permitting. The loop ramp has been closed to traffic since Sunday, April 10, 2016, so that crews could reconstruct the entire ramp with new concrete pavement and complete flyover bridge demolition work.

WEEKDAY OVERNIGHT LANE CLOSURES: Westbound I-435 TWO LEFT LANES from Quivira Road to I-35 CLOSED for traffic switch work related to the reopening of the northbound I-35 to westbound I-435 loop ramp beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday, June 24 and reopening at 5 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, weather permitting.

I-35 at I-435 INTERCHANGE SHORT-TERM LANE CLOSURES

24/7 SHORT-TERM LANE CLOSURES: Northbound and southbound I-35 FAR LEFT LANE at the I-435 interchange CLOSED for bridge reconstruction work, 24/7 round the clock, beginning at 5 a.m. on Monday, June 13 through Tuesday, July 12 (30-day closure), weather permitting. These closures are needed so crews can widen the two bridges (to add an extra lane) to carry traffic on eastbound I-435 over I-35 and westbound I-435 over I-35. See photo above for the two interchange bridge locations where widening work is occurring.

Northbound and southbound I-35 traffic will still have two through lanes open during this short-term left lane closure. Traffic will be directed through the project work zone via cones and signage.
