I-35 & I-435 Interchange
EXPECT MAJOR DELAYS! WEEKEND-LONG FULL ROADWAY & RAMP CLOSURES: The following lane, ramp and roadway closures on eastbound and westbound I-435 at the I-35 interchange are scheduled to occur for installation of bridge girders for the new eastbound I-435 to northbound I-35 flyover ramp**, beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday, August 7 and reopening to all traffic at 5 a.m. on Monday, August 10, weather permitting (Johnson County).
CLOSES at 10 p.m. on Friday, August 7 and REOPENS at 5 a.m. on Monday, August 10 as follows:
All lanes of westbound I-435 at I-35 CLOSED.
WB I-435 mainline thru traffic will detour via northbound U.S. 69 to westbound 87th Street back onto southbound I-35 to access westbound I-435.
All lanes of eastbound I-435 at I-35 CLOSED.
EB I-435 mainline thru traffic will detour via northbound I-35 to eastbound 87th Street back onto southbound U.S. 69 to access eastbound I-435.
Northbound I-35 to westbound I-435 ramp CLOSED.
Northbound I-35 ramp traffic will detour via northbound I-35 to westbound 95th Street back onto southbound I-35 to access westbound I-435.
Southbound I-35 to eastbound I-435 ramp CLOSED.
Southbound I-35 ramp traffic will detour via eastbound 119th Street back onto northbound I-35 to access eastbound I-435.
Lackman Road to eastbound I-435 ramp CLOSED.
Lackman Road ramp traffic will detour via eastbound College Boulevard to northbound Quivira Road to access eastbound I-435.
Marked detours will be provided. See detour map below. Advance message boards will alert drivers to the full roadway and ramp closures. Drivers should expect major delays during the weekend-long closures and must use alternate routes.
