I-35 at I-435 INTERCHANGE SHORT-TERM LANE CLOSURES
24/7 SHORT-TERM LANE CLOSURES: Northbound and southbound I-35 FAR LEFT LANE at the I-435 interchange CLOSED for bridge reconstruction work, 24/7 round the clock, beginning at 5 a.m. on Monday, June 13 through Tuesday, July 12 (30-day closure), weather permitting. These closures are needed so crews can widen the two bridges (to add an extra lane) to carry traffic on eastbound I-435 over I-35 and westbound I-435 over I-35. See photo above for the two interchange bridge locations where widening work is occurring.
Northbound and southbound I-35 traffic will still have two through lanes open during this short-term left lane closure. Traffic will be directed through the project work zone via cones and signage.
The Kansas Department of Transportation and GIC urge all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and “Give ‘Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through the project work zone.
Overall #JoCoGateway Phase Two Project work is scheduled to be completed in December 2016. (KDOT Project #435-46 KA-1002-06)
